Streaming Netflix on Apple TV keeps buffering

I've been using my Apple TV for a while now to stream Netflix (Canadian Netflix, that is).

It's worked reasonably well for the most part.  But recently it seems that it pauses several times to buffer  while streaming a movie.

I use my Apple TV wirelessly.  This isn't the best scenario, but running a cable from my router upstairs at the back of the house all the way down to the TV at the front of the house isn't really feasible.  So, wireless it is.

After reading quite a bit on the web about my buffering problem, my conclusion is that it's caused by interference from other wireless routers.  And there are about a dozen within range of me.

I looked through the settings on my D-Link DIR-601 router and the one parameter that I changed that made all the difference in the world was to set it to 802.11n instead of combined 802.11g/802.11n.

You can read more about the difference between the two standards here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/802.11

  1. Update: Part 2 of the problem of buffering was caused by a lack of space on the Apple TV itself.

I had loaded dozens of fairly large images to be used as displayed by the screen saver. Which meant there was less space to buffer video.

After using one of the default screen saver themes, the buffering problem has almost completely disappeared
