Anyone out there own a Hyundai or a Kia?
It seems that both car companies did not correctly calculate the gas mileage that they advertised on their cars. So the theory goes that if you bought a Hyundai Accent (which is my case) and they advertised that it got 6.7 l/100km, then you would expect to get 6.7 l/100km. But in reality, the car gets 7.1 l/100km (or whatever). That means that they deceived you into buying their car by displaying a better mileage that the car actually was capable of.
So, to compensate the people who bought these cars, they are offering a refund for the extra gas that was consumed. And they will continue to compensate you for as long as you own the car.
Unfortunately, my car is a 2009 and isn't affected.
