I downloaded a cool app the other day on my Android phone.
The app is called "Google Sky Map". Based on your location (either WiFi or GPS), it displays the sky for that location.
What's cool is that you hold it up to the sky and it shows you the stars for wherever you're pointing it. It's like a little window you super-impose on the sky to give you more details. Kind of like Google Goggles, but for the night sky.
There are options to have it display stars, planets, Messier objects, constellations, etc...
