I've been playing around with recording and playing back the infra-red signals transmitted by the various remote controls I have.
I've been using my Rasbberry Pi with an infra-red detector and an infra-red LED connected via the GPIO.
I will include more in a future post with a more detailed description of how I did it. But for now, here is a list of the codes I've decoded so far.
Apple TV 7 button silver remote control:
